Hello! We look forward to you joining us in chat!

|||
Our 'room' resides on the NewNet IRC (Inter-Relay Chat) Network. You may visit us using the java chat connection below, or with a standard IRC client program. WebTV users may also connect to our chat room using Web TV Chat.
Easy JAVA Chat Connection (also known as JIRC):
If you are on a
PC or a Mac, you can connect now. Just
Look for a pop-up window asking you to accept a java applet. You must accept the java applet in order to join the chat. You will only need to accept this download once.
Once the java screen loads, be sure to enter a nickname up to 9 characters in length with no spaces. Avoid common names by adding a number after it. Otherwise, you might get bumped off the chat network if someone else is already using that name.
Select the chat room (channel) you wish to enter: #Cn2000 .
You are ready to connect! Click on the "Connect Now!" button.
Once the connection is made, you will see a list of names along the right (other chatters) and a screen with the conversation. To enter the conversation, simply type your message and hit 'enter' on your computer.
You can make your text bold or in colors by selecting the "B" or clicking on one of the colors on the color chart.
To leave the chat room, click on "Disconnect", then close out the window.
NOTE: If you didn't see a pop-up box regarding the java applet, you may have an older browser or you may have java turned off. If you are on AOL and you fail to see the certificate, you may need to close out of your AOL browser and try again.
Other Ways to Connect
IRC client programs for PC and Mac Users: An IRC client program is like a web browser for chat. They are easy to use and make chatting a truly fun experience. PC users may use mIRC, pIRCh or vIRC. Use Ircle if you are on a Mac.
1. Connect to any NewNet server. (We recommend using the random NewNet server called irc.newnet.net in your IRC client program.) 2. After connecting, type the following: /join #Cn2000
Web TV Users: By default, Web TV chat connections are set up for the Talk City IRC network. However, you can join us on the NewNet server by following these simple instructions.
Once you have the name of the chat server you want to connect to, go to your WebTV Home page, click Community, click Chat, then click Goto on the sidebar to the left. Now enter the server name in the top blank box, and the channel name (if you have one) in the third box; then hit the button at the bottom.
From Home, click Community
Click Chat
Click Goto on the sidebar (don't use the GoTo key)
In the three boxes on that page, type:
irc.newnet.net (or any other NewNet server.)
6667 (try 7000 if you have problems)
#Cn2000 font>
Click the button at the bottom
