A fragile leaf
reached for the sun,
Singular in purpose.
With great apparent strength
it set a goal.
Others witnessed
its example.
When touched by the beauty
of God's reflected light,
their lives were changed.
Unexpected
disaster struck.
The leaf became preserved
for all eternity
as it had lived.
Nature mourned it.
For a short time
its beauty was hidden
by the same force which had
stolen its life.
Not satisfied
to let it die
and lose the example
the little leaf had been,
God restored it.
When time revealed
the little leaf
in all its perfection,
the wisdom of His plan
was seen at last.

Shirley Ann Hampton was my mother. Shirley was beaten to death by an ex spouse in Nov. 8 1980. He served three years less a day....we serve life! The remaining of our lives without a: daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Our daughter Teresa-Lyn Marie Asmussen was beaten to death
on or about Oct. 10, 1997 in Spokane, Washington. After she was beaten to death, her body was thrown into the
Spokane River where it was found a week later.
She left behind a large loving family,
and a baby daughter that we adopted and are raising.

A Tribute to the Parents of All Missing Children
of Stranger Abductions
A special prayer needs to be said each day for those parents who wait days, weeks, months, years, sometimes decades, for the return of their loved ones. Many of these parents never know the fate of their child. The difficulty of an open wound must be unbearable. To go to bed each night...praying that tomorrow...maybe they will return. Unlike runaways or parental/family abductions, these parents have no idea who or what type of monster may have their child. Even though, it is horrible to think of the pain any parent goes through when their child is missing...these parents have no answers, no clues, all they have is the hope one day their child may return. Maybe a grown man or woman. It will not matter...these children are loved and missed each day and forever.
My heart goes out to all of these parents.
